That Bolus and Snopes intro was one of the most entertaining threads I’ve ever read. I spoke with him a bit at one of the Challenges. Very friendly guy. We’ll miss you.

We never met, but he seemed like a good guy. Always Willing to lend his insight and expertise in a kind way. From what I could tell, he tried to make the world a better place and I think he probably did.
Man, I hate seeing these posts. It always feels like getting punched in the gut. Thanks Pete for letting the group know though.
Since joining this forum in 2012, I have never felt a stronger sense of community and friendship than I have here at GRM. This community is easily the best I have ever been a part of since I started joining online bulletin boards in about 1993. I'm constantly amazed by the diversity, experience and knowledge that end up on these forums. It really is like a big extended family. I feel a lot of regret from not meeting some of the members who have passed on in person. You all are an amazing group and it hurts just as bad as a family member passing when I hear that a member has passed away.
My condolences to Ovid_and_Flem's family and Godspeed sir. I wish I could of met you in real life.
Dan
Sorry to hear it. What a good dude, really loved cars and racing and willing to help anyone. I'll miss reading his posts and knowing he's out there.
Damn. I really appreciated the public advice he offered so many people. Seemed like a pretty interesting cat.
RIP, Mr Flem.
Very sad. I kept meaning to reach out about the Porsche wheels he was selling, but just never got around to it. I had seen where he had indicated in a few posts he had health problems, but I had no idea how bad.
I'm really sad to read this, he was a great member of the GRM community - and his posts were always entertaining! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
At my first Challenge two years ago we sat and shot the E36 M3 while watching the drags for over an hour. It was only when we stood up to leave that we introduced ourselves. He entertained me with an hour of good conversation, stories, and life advice just because I sat down near him. He'll be missed.
Jim posted a seat for sale a while back. I wanted to buy it, but knew I wouldn't be able to pick it up for a while. He was extremely accommodating, although I'm sure he could've sold it many times over before I picked it up.
When I finally had the chance to pick it up, it was in the middle of a cross-country move. Not only did he meet me on the route I was traveling, he insisted on taking my friend and I out to a great breakfast place and gave us a bottle of honeysuckle vodka as a parting gift. I did nothing to deserve any of this kindness and it came at a time that it was truly welcome.
My interaction with Jim was limited, but damn if I'm not considering driving to Jackson. He was truly 'one of us,' besides being the kind of human I aspire to be. Godspeed, friend.

This. All of this.
I fondly remember bolus and Snopes as well, and of course the challenges.
I'll light up a tire for you Ovid.
I'm gobsmacked at the news! Rest in peace Jim.
I feel like designing a memorial Bolus & Snopes Ltd decal or something.
