Jackson is a long way from me, but if anyone wants a group to get together and finish the Safari 911 I'll be there.
Same here. Long way from home, but if we do try and do this, I'd be down.

Im there.
When?
Probably the best memorial service we can do.
This is probably a good time to add a link to Jim's 1987 Porsche 911 build thread.
Geez. While searching for the Porsche 911 thread, I also came across this recent thread from Jim. Though very recent (less than 2 weeks), I had forgotten until I saw it again. This would have been my last words directly to him. In a strange foreshadow, I hope this event had nothing to do with his demise.

Thanks John. I’d missed this thread during traveling, but Jim had called me & filled me in on the details. He was shaken up by the event, which even he said was out of character for himself - and he’d taken a bullet during an armed robbery in his younger years.

I may not be a huge help but I would be in for this too. Jim was a true character and I am honored to have spent time with him at a Challenge. John's remembrance of him as one who always looked forward and made time to include others gets to the core of what made him special IMO. Helping his 911 make rooster tails seems like a fitting memorial.
Man, I'm just seeing this thread now.
I was always entertained by his posts. I also remembered him busting down the door to the place with his first posts. He seemed like a good guy on here, and apparently, he was in the real world as well. He will definitely be missed.
I remember that scary story of the Ford PU trying to roll over him , it made me think about man vs machine a little more !
RIP , and thanks for the stories

Bit of a hike for me as well but I'd consider making an attempt.
berkeley.
Just getting in here to read the news in here this morning. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the loved ones he left behind.
I sure enjoyed his introduction thread, here too (as other's have pointed out). With an opening like that it was going to be a tough act to follow up, but he sure did. Although I never had the honor to meet him in person, I really enjoyed all that he contributed here and at the challenge.
RIP
Sad news.
The world has gotten a little less interesting with his passing.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I'd be down for something like this. I am sure many others here would be as well. I'd be willing to chip in some money through Paypal or Venmo.
It would be an honor to run one on one of my vehicles.
I feel like Jim , as well as most of you All, didn't 'Get' Me' but We talked, And talked About life, And Cars , People. I'll Miss his scratchy ass Voice.
My wife is Curently in the I C U, Septic Shock /Colon liver Kidney Shut down, But If I can Go Help With anything.... I will, Once She Is Good.
Crap This makes me feel Vulnerable, In many Way's
I'll Miss you brother.
Jim volunteered advice and support to dallas through the divorce and custody hearings. He was a kind face to both of us at the challenge, and a genuinely GOOD man in my experience. Its still hitting me that i wont see him again. I sat with his fire suit last night for a while. Good man.
Gtx: we get you. And my prayers are with you and your wife. This ain't E36 M3 we're equipped to deal with.
GTX, I'm sorry to hear about your wife, that sounds like a really challenging situation.
I think being there for your wife is probably exactly what Jim (aka Ovid) would want you to do.
I really enjoyed what Jim shared here. He was fun to banter with. It seems like he left a big impact on a lot of folks here. He's one of those folks that I wish I had run into at some event.
