Have you seen the previews? It's every adventure/action/Tolkein movie ever made, but as OWLS?!?!??! Seriously? As if massacring all of my childhood heroes wasn't enough (A-Team, Transformers, GI Joe, Red Dawn) this is what they've sunk to? Is there truly nothing else original in Hollywood?

Could be worse. Could be Justin Beibers.
It's based on a series of book aimed at tweens. There is very little original any more.
I am waiting for the big screen adaptation of Oliver Twist where all the characters are either Transformers, Autobots or sewer dwelling turtles with advanced martial arts skills.

It's a kids movie. Cut it some slack. You gotta remember, we've been making movies for 100 years or so, and telling stories since we figured out how to grunt and have other people understand it.

Post a link so I can add it to my queue. I cannot find any movie where Fagan is an Autobot.

How about featuring stray cats and dogs, or Hamlet with lions...

No, the OWLs might be a part of the HP movies, but they don't have a movie to themselves. There got my geek on for the day.

They do have a movie to themselves:
IMDB - owl movie
I saw an earlier trailer for it on a rented movie. I actually watched the trailer a couple times-it had a great voice over with pretty decent, fantasy oriented writing. No kidding.
