Clearly there is a snorkel for the intake and I love how the siren goes away as it enters the "puddle" and then comes right back on exit.
air produced sounds do not usually travel well when submerged.
That was pretty cool though. I could not imagine the amount of cleaning needed after that
Sweet. Driver needs a scuba mask mounted periscope and his own air supply and he could easily drive through deeper.

Yep you can see it around 0:56-0:57, a pretty common setup for lorries - an oil bath air filter under the cab, and then an intake running close to roof level at the back of the cab.

the Isuzu I used to drive had the same setup
the problems with that style Isuzu trucks is rust. Usually right under the driver's right foot. They only ever put a thin layer of vinyl on the floor and over time, the weight of the driver's foot rubs the paint off under the vinyl. Combine that with a small hole in the vinyl and wet feet from getting in and out of the truck all day.. and it does not take long for the floor to disappear.
Other wise, they are well equipped for that sort of work. Mechanical speedo and tach.. minimal electronics, mechanical fuel injection. As long as it can get air and fuel in and exhaust out.. that truck would ford water all day
How did they know that would work? The water was almost to the roof? Firemen (and ladies) are a different breed, and for that, I am grateful.
I like how the two firemen popped up from the back and the one was on the walkie the whole time.
