Uranus stolen in New Milford
New Milford police are looking for the thief or thieves who took the planet Uranus off its base in front of the Sarah Noble Intermediate School in New Milford overnight Wednesday.
The spherical model of the seventh planet was stolen from its base in front of the school. It had recently been placed at the school as part of a project. Authorities believe it was stolen sometime between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 8:15 a.m. Thursday.
The planet was described as a bronze ball, about the size of tennis ball, blue and green with grey spots with a bumpy textured surface, It is valued at about $1,000.
