I had the same experience. I needed mine issued sorta last minute for an overseas trip, paid (out the nose) for expedited service, got it surprisingly quickly. Kinda surprised it worked, but glad it did since I was sitting on about $2k of unrefundable airlines tickets.
Good to hear. Mine expires in December, and you can be turned down with a passport that's within six months of its expiration date. Guess I should do something about it soon...
Just sent mine off for renewal about a week or so ago. Non-expedited is supposed to take 4-6 weeks; we'll see how accurate that is.
Lesley, I don't need to hear that. Mine expires in November, and I'm leaving on Wednesday...
