more than embarrassing, imagine if that happened a country a bit more 'hostile' to the US than Ireland, that's a seriously dangerous position to be in.
i wanted to see how they got it off/over though.
and yes he should definitely donk it.
Wouldn't you just totally love to be the guy who had to explain why he didn't pre-run the route properly, & thereby turned mobile protection into what we like to call a Sitting Target?
Talk about your career-limiting move.
Anybody know how they got it moving again?
I suppose the guys who did the prerun were in a Suburban so they had no issue with the driveway, but they should have noticed it was going to be tight for that long limo.
The BMW that came out in front of the presidential limo certainly didn't have any problems.
I love errant comments blaming Obama for anything regarding the Beast, especially when it was designed and built a few years before the 2008 election...
Does seem like a "hit a button for mega-ride height" option would be a handy feature, though.
If you watch the video, at the end, the driver opens the door and gets out. Look at how thick the door is!

It nearly did
I wonder if it hit at the transfer case. It stopped abruptly, not like is just high-centered, but like it hit something.
The one in the video doesn't look like the newer beast, it looks like the older smaller one the Bush used.
Another report mentioned that the limo stuck something metal underneath, maybe part of the gate sticks up like a speed bump after it retracts into the ground? Also, they say it was a spare limo, not The Beast itself.

Look how far forward the pivot is to keep the back end up in the air. How much weight is in the front?

Could the front suspension somehow have busted? Look how far the wheels are up in the fenders.

For Clinton, that was used for trips to McDonalds.

I can't imagine anything Wild Bill ate fitting through a 3" window.

Aww for a minute there I had this image of them rolling the car out of the back of a ramp on Air Force One. That'd be cool in a G.I. Joe sort of way
