One of the cams on the Dallenbach/Banks racer lost a cam at full acceleration. You can see the footage from the cam at the youtube link above.

Notice how it catches everything and doesn't lose the picture even when it's skipping down the road at 50 mph. Amazing quality, this is why go pro is worth the money IMO

Now that is a seriously good camera. Usually when something cool happens on camera there's the snow and static as soon as the first light impact happens.

I read the story of the GoPro in a magazine on an airplane recently. Short story, the inventor was a surfer who wanted to develop a way to attach a waterproof camera to his board. He originally had no interest in the camera, just the attaching method. He wanted a small camera (film at the time) with a wide-angle lens, and had to go to China to find a manufacturer to make one that would work. They came back with a digital camera that also happened to take video. Sure, whatever, as long as I can take decent surf pictures. He was selling them out of a VW van!

Shortly thereafter, YouTube was introduced and suddenly the video component of the GoPro had an audience. Bam. The rest was history. Its a great story of following a dream, working hard, and fortunate timing. And it confirms my belief that (despite being a Marketing guy) a good product sells.
