Hey Guys,

Once again I find myself asking the GRM collective for advice. (Why not? You seem to know everything.) The plastic bumper cover on my dad's 2003 crown vic is cracked and splitting. What is the best method to repair it?

I wrote an article about this a few years ago in GRM, I'll try and dig it up on Monday.

First step, you need to find out what kind of plastic Ford used.

Which it should say on the cover by the part number. Typically, I find they are ABS plus some kind of filler material.

In reply to JoeyM:

How damaged is it? just one tear and some cracks? or a few tears and a lot of cracking?

The BMW 840Ci episode of Wheeler Dealers had a neat fix

The dent system is pretty cool too!

I have never tried it, but sportbike plastic can be patched with a paste made from baking soda and super glue.
