I'm torn on fixing my builds but mainly because I think I've done a good job of describing what was done and a lot of my pictures are me making fun of ourselves.

Fortunately my current build thread was only a couple pages long. All links fixxored now thanks to Stampie's solution. I encourage GRMers to sign up for Photoberkit.com. It is still a work in progress but it does the job with NO ads.
Currently trying to wade through photobucket to download my old pictures, how in the berk did any of you deal with this?
Jerry From LA wrote: Very few will go back and re-populate a 30-page archived build thread.
my original thread "@ another forum" is 55 pages
a friend has hosted my photos now for a few years....
pisser about photobucket.... it always slows/stops me whenever I go there... not sure it is worth it to try and get my pics back

I waited until early morning and downloaded my albums then, when it was off peak hours. If everything is in an album you can download the entire album. It is presented as a zip folder but you can copy all and paste to your computer like any other file.

You're approved also. Are you guys getting an approval email from photoberkit? I know we're having to manually approve them instead of clicking the link in the admin email.
In reply to Stampie:
I clicked on that link in the approval email but it still said waiting admin approval after that
In reply to fasted58:
Ok then it's not sending another email after approval. For now I'll just manually email people.
In reply to EastCoastMojo:
Went and got adblock just for this. It seems to be helping a fair bit. Before it was literally freezing every other button I hit.
In reply to Stampie:
It gave me a notification about waiting for admin approval when I clicked the link.

Your account has been approved. You will need to create an album before you can upload pics to it, may need to clear cookies first. Let me know if you need assistance.
For now, if you register on photoberkit.com please post here too so I can track registry requests. If you don't receive a registry confirmation email within an hour please post here.
Deleted PB pics down to 200 from 400 one day ago. Started trying to download album at 12:45 a.m. this morning. Musta went through CAPTCHA 50X but download wouldn't start. Finally had a download window start once but failed, then at random times later but they failed 3X. Drink beer. Log off/ log on at 3:30 a.m. CAPTCHA! Download window! Download complete!
At least I have my album back now.
They didn't make it easy.

That's kinda why I gave up on my build thread (and it wasn't even a tenth of the 30 pages you tossed out there). I got sick of having to go through and fix all the links every other month. That, and a perceived lack of interest in the thread in general.
I've got to wonder what the logic was that went into the pricing. I mean someone had to do the supply demand curve plotting.
There was always going to be a certain amount of attrition when it goes from free to paid but 33.3 dollars a month? Who is that committed to PB?
I could see 5 or six bucks a month but I really want to know what the research looked like to come up with the crack pipe pricing they settled on.

Just because you perceived a lack of interest today doesn't mean someone won't need the info tomorrow. people search the archives and find something they need years later. Who knows? The cure for cancer may be in your build thread.
Time to take advantage of my Prime account. Just not looking forward to downloading all my albums and then uploading to Prime
Knurled wrote: Maybe because it's a new problem and people are still adjusting?
While this particular problem is new, Photobucket has been terrible for years now. I've been suggesting people leave there for quite some time, but I realize not everyone is comfortable jumping off something they have used for years.
That said, http://imgur.com/ is free, unlimited hosting. It's really quite easy to use too.
Just signed up for Smugmug this afternoon and uploaded pics from my current phone w/ the app. The 200 pic download album from Photobucket wouldn't load as a whole from my computer so need to go back later and upload the remainder the phone upload didn't get. At least I have retained everything I wanted, back in business adding pics on build threads.
Now to replace pics on old threads.
You'll need to log in to post.
