I know alot of people here are into watches, so maybe someone can help me find one. I would like a somewhat decent pocket watch that doesnt cost more than $100, and I would perfer it to be a dark color like black or grey. I found tons of them seraching on google, but I have no idea if any of them arer worth buying.
Swiss Army makes one that is quartz and water resistant. (the water resistant is important because you WILL leave it in your pants pocket when you do laundry). I will check the price and PM you tomorow.
Watch repairs are my business.

Porksboy, any suggestions for a $100 classy looking wristwatch? Cheaper is better.
When I was running machines for a living watches were ver boten. A string of chips or something grabs the band, next thing you know they're calling you lefty.
I always had pocket watches. Caravelle is an inexpensive brand that is very flat in your pocket and tolerates being between your thigh and the machines you're leaning on or climbing over.
If you're looking for a family heirloom to pass down, this ain't it. If you want to be safe, this is what Target offers:

You can buy a nice vintage pocket watch for ~$100. I've bought a wristwatch from this guy before, and he also has a bunch of pocket watches for sale, mostly from the early 1900s-'50s. http://www.girards.com/sell/frame41.shtml
Depending what you want to use it for, of course, a modern one might be more appropriate.

Telling time, mostly. And looking like a badass.

What, nobody gonna pick on his pink little shoesies?
My wife bought me an antique Waltham some year ago. It's very nice, deer engraved on the back, some preacher's name on the inside and the date, 1882. Too nice to wear, too rare for me to fix in the garage and too thick in your pocket.

I carried a pocket watch for years. I forget the brand. Elgin? I bought it when I was about 14. Still have it somewhere. I like the really thin kind with the hinged cover. I never washed it. I also never put anything else in that pocket so it wouldn't get scratched up and always pushed the button when closing it. Finally went back to a wrist watch, first digital, then Rolex, with a few lesser quartz ones for road trips.
Buy a cheap Timex wristwatch, take off the band, put it in your pocket, done.
My pocket watch also makes phone calls
Seriously, I think that's the modern pocket watch. A lot of my friends don't wear watches anymore, they just glance at their phone to check the time.
Keith beat me to it.
Yeah...I'd love a pocket watch but I don't need ANY kind of watch in this day of cell phones. Now...here's My million dollar idea:
A cell phone that looks and functions like a classy pocket watch.

That's a damn good idea.
Except I'm not sure I'd want it for everyday use.
If only the cell phone companies would let you have multiple phones on the same phone number... without charging you an arm & leg for it... so you could swap them around like the accessories they've become...
Go with GSM, you can do that by swapping the SIM card.
