Nice, they can raise revenue and help the public out by just charging drunk drivers for a ride home!

I think it's a great idea.

But there are a few bars around town offering FREE RIDES home to those who have had too much to drink.

Granted, the bartender has to take your keys to get the cab ride, but you'd have to go back and get your car tomorrow anyway.

Or just take a spare key to a fake vehicle..

I find it strange that the city that dyes the river green for St Paddies Day and encourages people to get hammered also arrests a bunch of people during the same time for PI and DUI. My son got to visit the Chatham County Hilton once during that holiday.

I've often toyed with the idea of hiring some of my friends and starting a drunk ride home business. We come get you and your car, and drive you and your car home. I know there's several around..... I just wonder what it would take to get in on that pie. Go into bars, get my name known, etc etc.

limo license, bonding, insurance etc... unless you are just going rogue - plus then you have to deal with drunk people to get paid.

if all they are doing with that car is parking it and using it for awareness.. I am all for it. My work scheadule either has me going to work early in the morning or coming home at those same ungodly hours.. the amount of drunks I see on the road is absurd.

My BiL got nailed twice in one week.. he went to court for the first.. lost his license for 6 months and all the fines and stuff that go with it. I think he is still driving.. I know for a fact he is still drinking.

+1 on a great idea for a surplus vehicle. otherwise it would have just become a donk!

Drunks are easy. Sober shiny happy people are harder. Plus you can usually get drunks to buy you a chalupa, and as a bonus, if they puke, it's in their car!

One local service has fold-up electric scooters - they drive your car home and then zip off on the scooter.

which sucks for them if they just drove you an hour out into the sticks to your house trailer!

We'd use commuter mobiles for that reason... or absolute worst case scenario, big truck+trailer. Screw that electric scooter business.

here's a lesson for that angry canadian singer chick that was in Dogma -- why the hell can't i think of her name?

rain on your wedding day isn't ironic. the guy on the electric scooter getting killed by a drunk driver returning from dropping off a drunk driver, now that's ironic.

There was a tow company in my area that started a pick you up with your car and drive you both home business. They were shut out by the taxi companies, as they aren't "livery" licensed or whatever. I thought it was a great idea.
