Only I don't have a swimming pool. :( Does anyone have any experience with those $100.00-$200.00 inflatable Wally World pools? Do they have a pump and use chemicals? I know a permanent installation wouldn't work for me.

We put one up couple of years ago to see if we'd use it enough to justify a big pool. Before we added the chemicals, tree frogs started breeding in it. So, the wife decided to let them. We still have the pump and later, guess I can get rid of them now. Last year we git a 27x4 aboveground with the salt system. We like it. The maintenance is easy.

I'm assuming you are talking about the kind that have an inflated ring around the top? If so, yes they have a pump and you add chemicals. They are pretty fun. You should probably look around right now for one to see if any of the online stores have a leftover from last year. They usually run about 1/2 price at the end of the season.

Because of the design, that type of pool has to be filled to a specific depth to work so check the actual water level on the box to see if they work for what you want. They do not tolerate an uneven surface so be sure you have or can make a level spot. Letting it get too full of leaves or letting it get too full of algae will clog the filter, and kill the pump. ,Change the filters often and buy a chemical test kit so you can check that you are keeping enough Cl- in it and you will be fine. Use the tablets most of the time unless it gets green or really dirty. Then use pool store liquid Cl- with small amounts of muriatic acid to shock it and clear the water back up. All those fancy named chemicals are just a waste of money. Enjoy!

I have used them.. they are fun and a cheap way to enjoy a warm summer day. A plus is they are temporary and will not cause the city to raise your taxes for having a pool

Had one a few years back when the kids were little before we joined the local pool. It was fine. Everything in the above quoted post is true!

Had ours for 4 years then we gave to the neighbor for his boys at the beginning of last Summer and it still goes strong, we did replace the pump once.

My wife had one we've used the past few summer's before we married. It was $300. It did have a pump. To get through the summer, figure a $5 filter and $40-$50 in chemicals. It was nice on those hot days. She hated setting it up and putting it back up after summer. Figure on having a "Crop Circle" in your yard when your done.
