There's not much more that'll put you in touch with your own mortality than hearing about something like this. The dude wasn't on the battlefield, or fighting a life-threatening disease, or even engaged in some high-risk leisure activity. He was checking his mail. Doing the most mundane of daily tasks and his ticket gets punched. You really start to wonder how many times a day you're one millimeter away from and end you don't even see coming.
He was a heck of a young actor, and by all accounts a quality guy. Real bummer.
Just realized that he was Thomas in Odd Thomas. A weird but enjoyable movie. Sad to hear about his passing.
