Kudos to 7-11 for attempting to provide healthier food options at its convenience stores. The latest down home treat: mashed potatoes extruded from what looks like a modified Slurpee machine.
For just $2, you can get yourself a bowl of mashed potatoes and a giant tub of soda. And to make everything slide down easier, you even have the option to add an extra layer of chicken gravy on top—that's button 3 on the machine shown—at no added price.
But who needs the mashed potato part? If 7-11 wanted a real hit on their hands, they'd just let customers add chicken gravy to any foodstuffs in the store.

What.....The.....Hell.......
Well it looks so yummy!
What next? A gravy dispenser?
Saw that on Craig Fergusson last night. I dunno...
My wife says she saw this on GMA Monday. Supposedly it comes out a liquid and solidifies right in front of your eyes and yes, gravy does come with it.
Supposedly the Japanese think it's the greatest thing.
mix that with some of the cheese and chili they have an you've got most 80% of the food groups in artificial form!

How long before the Japanese are as fat as North Americans?
How long until someone ladles a quart of Cheez(tm) from the nachos bar onto the "mashed" "potatoes"?
Mixed feelings on it... I do love some mashed taters though.
I had no idea 7-11's still existed anywhere other than my mind.

Employees probably did that when they were "testing" the machine before it first opened for business.
Far from healthy, especially with a gravy dispenser, but I think I'd try it. I just hope it has some flavor to it.

Do you visit this mental 7-11 often?

This is surely aimed at late-night stoners wandering about for a snack, (likely the only demographic indifferent towards the contents of their slurpee cup.) Otherwise, ewwwwww!
Hey nobody said you have to drink it like a slurpee.
dammit, I woulda been certain they woulda used my trailer trash podunk county as a consumer test area... but no
My brain cannot comprehend this. I'm just going to blindly assume it's some sort of sick joke until I actually see one with my own eyes.

There are a few here in N Falls Canada. One just opened in the last year or so.

Soft serve potato mash swirl (cheese/gravy) with a big gulp cup full of fried chicken would rule.

Only when my inner child needs a metaphysical Big Gulp...and a jelly doughnut...TO GO!
7-11 is the #1 Quickie Food Mart in America.

Not long with E36 M3 like this:
Went to a wedding where they had Tater-tinis. Mashed spuds in a martini glass, you add the toppings of your choice.
For some reason I was surprised that the writing on the machine wasn't in hirigana. Maybe it's all the stories about how the Japanese have vending machines for everything.
Doesn't seem any odder than some other convenience store processed food I've seen elsewhere, though.

Now that picture is making me hungry.

Its weird to walk the streets there and see multiple vending machines on every corner.
