We've had some torrential rain here lately (as I'm sure Stuart and a few others can attest to) and I misjudged a puddle. Turns out I can in fact high center my car. It was sheer luck I got it out without a truck- totally stuck on the subframe. Other wheel was almost as deep, but I didn't get a picture.
You probably could have made it across if you were going faster.

Oh and for frame of reference, that's a 17x9 wheel and a 245/40 tire. And I had no traction on that side of the car AT ALL. Thank god for factory LSD.
Check your oil pan and your alignment. And your CV boots.
Hell, just put it on a lift and check everything.

Little worried the right side CV might be honked... heard some weird clicking from that side. Then again, I can't imagine the Rally Armor on that side of the car did too well, since you can see how crammed it is right there- and I backed the car out. I got it home plenty safe, no noticeable change in driveability. I hit it pretty slow, and I know my subframe hangs pretty low below the oil pan. I've tapped it on speed bumps before. Stupid car being all low....
Maybe it's time for one of these:

The plastic skidplate on the MS3 sucks. I did have a similar incident to your when I hit a rutted logging road hard in my old MS3 when I volunteered at the 2010 New England Forest Rally. It did its job- the car skated along the rut until it became shallow enough for the wheels to get a grip again- but the plate was trashed. Amazingly, the only other damage I got the whole rally was a bad wheel bearing thanks to driving on logging roads with summer-only tires.

They look like brand new Star Specs to me
I think crappy roads are one reason Americans choose to drive SUV's.
But seriously, I'm surprised that there are any potholes left. I can't drive a mile in any direction without finding a road crew digging, paving, and otherwise obstructing travel. It has reached truly absurd levels here in Virginia, and I suspect most every mile of road in the state will be freshly paved soon.... twice. It's good to know that our government is rolling in money, eh?

This was a (possibly) private parking lot, out in front of a Dollar Store, in a blue collar section of town. OF COURSE it's tore up.

Bout 3 seasons on em. They're pretty shot, actually. Insides are all worn to hell because I was dumb and drove it on a bad alignment last year.
Yeah, I think the drought is officially over in Minneapolis.
Many years ago my brother and I were out driving around in the country in northern Minnesota; we were on a little dirt road out in the middle of nowhere and came up to a big puddle. It didn't look that deep but when we drove into it, the water came up over the hood of the car. My brother floored it, and we somehow bounced through and made it out the other side, but it did rip the idler arm right out of the frame of his '61 Catalina.
Meh, I gotta dodge a couple of those every day.
