Power is out due to a thunderstorm.
A. Sit in the dark
B. Go out in the rain and start the generator
C. Drive around until I find a bar with power.

Many, many years ago, I lived in an old house in Atlanta that had been converted into apartments. One day we actually had an ice/snow storm. No snow plows meant no way to go anywhere.
The phone rang that morning. It was my friend from downstairs.
"David, the cable's out."
"Yes, I know. So is the power."
**pause**
"Wanna go drink?"
The bar around the corner was open. The fryers worked, so it was either beer, fries or salads.
We lost a huge branch on the sycamore tree in the backyard. It hit the gutter and maybe wrecked it.
Haven't really gone into the rain to survey the full extent of the damage, but we didn't lose power.

So, oddly we lost branches from only one tree, though it is the sycamore and that is the tallest we have on the lot so maybe that makes sense.
Yes this branch came from the sycamore behind the house (looks like it's coming out the chimney).
So did this one.
And these.
There are still some widowmakers hanging in the sycamore.
And finally the gutter that took a pretty big hit. Honestly thats probably a great place for something to have hit.
