So, this is like the third time I am faced with an inoperative drivers side window. Window went down, but it can't get up. I lift the switch and... nothing. On the two previous times I've gone in and pulled the door card and the switch, I find that there is some evidence of arcing, carbon desposits, etc. Clean it up and it works. For like 20 up-down cycles.
I haven't been able to find the part new, or I'd pay whatever crazy price they want. So my only hope is either a used one, or the real solution. That being to wire a relay so the contacts don't take all the juice.
Anything I'm overlooking? Anybody got one of these switches they could part with?
I don't have one of those switches anymore, but I can say that all of the s4 electric window switches should be the same part number. It's not a turbo specific part iirc.
I'd just go with the relay. That is the overall solution to the issue. Keep in mind that you will need more than 1 relay for each window function. Again, iirc.
Oh, I forgot. Alot of times the high current is because the lubricant for the window has turned into a hard plastic like substance. Using the correct lubricant can take a large load off of the window operation.
Hmmm. I see some of these on ebay for reasonable money. I may go that route for now. Maybe shoot some silicone lube on the regulator mechanism.
I feel your pain, I have 1982 rx7 window switches that are intermittent, even after cleaning the inner contacts.
Maybe some Deoxit gold lube would give them a little more life?
Saw this on Amazon - not clear if it is a reman or a copy of the design. The description says it fits rx7's from 1989-2003, seems unlikely that FC's and FD's would use the same part.

I bought my FD's new switch through these guys, they appear to have what you're looking for:

Yeah, that's it. I have one coming from Japan for just over half that much. For a hunnerd bucks, I can wait.
