I know this is not the place, but a lot of you are friends, and this is important so I'm gonna share it anyway.

Today my 20 year old daughter (some of you know her as "YuGo Girl") was involved in an accident outside of Blue Ridge, GA.

She and 5 other friends were traveling in a Jeep, hit an icy patch, and slid off the road. The Jeep went down an embankment, and ended up upside down completely submerged in water.

The Jeep was totaled, but all 6 of them walked away. All but 1 ended up in the river and had to swim out. None were injured, except the driver had a minor bump on his head.

Praise God.

Thank God. They are young and full of life, way too soon to go. But, you know that. Kids can scare the bejezzus out of us in so many ways. Went to Homestead today to see my daughter, her daughter, and her daughter. 10 days old. Turns out Daddy had been beating my granddaughter, and she left him to go back with Mama. Her Daddy, my daughter's ex, came close to long prison time when he found out. Much more, but not on here.

Amen - be glad you have a divine presence around - we wouldn't make it long without it.

Holy Cow, they were lucky! Glad to hear that it turned out okay, they must have good karma.

Sounds like everyone was wearing seatbelts. That habit comes from parents setting an example and preaching it. A parent's voice in the mind of their children can serve like a powerful guardian angel.

Your daughter has very smart friends. Glad to hear everyone is ok.

I'm very glad that everybody is OK. Many years ago 3 co-workers of mine had a similar incident with a very different result. I'm happy things are OK with your girl and her friends.

Praise God indeed.

Having met both you and YugoGirl, the happy news of her blessed luck means all that much more, as well as her companions'. I found out quckly that you have a very strong "Guardian Angel" presence, and it serves y'all well.

Praise God. Amen.

Your math isn't so good. 6 kids in a Jeep does NOT mean everyone was wearing their seatbelts. I already chewed them out for that.

God was actually trying to kill them. Jeep engineering thwarted his efforts

In all seriousness - I am very glad you were spared a tragedy today. That is any parent's real worst nightmare.

(My initial reaction of course is why did God put the ice there and send them off the road in the first place...but that's just me.)

Believer or not, that is an amazing accident to walk away from and I am glad that everyone is OK.

I am really really glad they are all OK. That swim in cold water must have sucked.

It did. It was followed by an hour and a half walk before they got to a house that was occupied.

There was no cellphone coverage, but it wouldn't have mattered, since all of their cellphones were destroyed.

We can have that debate another time, if you'd like. Not today.

Miraculous! Glad they're all ok.

And at least they weren't speeding, by the sounds of it. A couple of days ago in Melbourne, Aus, 6 kids travelling in the one car spun out of control going way over the posted limit and clipped a tree. Only one girl survived. It was no one I knew, or anything like that, but the wreckage looked horrific on TV.

No, they weren't speeding. In fact, they were moving at less than 5 mph WITH the 4WD engaged.

My daughter said she thought they would just slide back to a bit more asphalt and find traction, but the ice continued over the edge, and once the car started sliding, it never stopped.

We have a lot of canals down here, and as a result, more than a few cars going in. Very rarely finishes as well as this one. Blessings, indeed.

I'm soo glad she's ok. The outcome was pretty much a best-case scenario to an obviously near-tragic situation.

No hugs yet. She's 5 hours away, we've only been able to talk on the phone.

I did, however, give each of my other kids a very special hug and kiss.

That sounds even more scary, knowing that it's happening and not being able to do anything about it.

Oh thank goodness everyone was OK. What an amazingly scary thing to have happen, for all involved. I am so glad the outcome was not any worse. I am sure they will carry this experience with them forever and know that they are lucky indeed.
