Devasting flooding gives new meaning to "down-under"

Here's a graph of river levels:
The numbers reflect meters, not feet.
Let us extend our thoughts and prayers to all afflicted.
woah, good luck to our Aussie friends...weren't they just undergoing a major drought?
Been reading about this. They say the incredibly poisonous snakes are coming out due to high water. Brown snakes are bad, bad, bad.
Also consider the saltwater croc.
They are dangerous in general but especially so in water up to one foot in depth or deeper. Those things will be having a field day. Hopefully they'll be fat and happy from the dead animals and leave the humans alone.
Wow. I will keep those people in my prayers and thoughts. Good post Oldsaw to take time out to remember others in times of sufferings.
We were in that area of Australia last summer. Wow.

Have we heard from Luke recently?
I heard this morning it is heading toward Brisbane. Hope every one there stays safe.

rest assured there are no crocs in that area. That said the whole thing is a mess, the floods are covering an area the size of Texas, about 25% of the State of Queensland

Thanks for the concern. Thankfully, I'm safe over on the other side of the country.
But it's a mess alright; looks like floods are now encroaching on the city of Brisbane itself.

Holy crap. Forgive my ignorance about this--I haven't been up on the news enough in the past few days. What a horror show.
Good to hear our Aussie ambassador is OK, though.

Good thing there. The snakes are bad enough.
Glad you're safe guys!
