Get your ares's up from behind the 'puter'  once every hour or you'll end up with 'cluster cramping' in the lower lung region of your body .... 'I lived it this past week' people get up and walk around once every hour...cuz this effen hurts bad and if you don't behave it can KILL YOU!!!   late............

My former company has bought standing desk for anybody that asked for one.

A standing desk is not a substitute for walking around.

There’s been some research that standing desks are actually worse than sitting. One of my coworkers got one of those walking desks that’s a standing desk with a treadmill. Worked okay if you were just copying & pasting, but it was pretty difficult if you needed to type paragraphs of text. Or, it could be that I’m just a lousy typist.

I spent several months on blood thinners last year after two years at a job that kept me sitting motionless in front of a computer for 40-50 hrs/week. I got a clot in my leg in spite of being a runner and getting up to walk around every hour. But yeah, get up and walk around as much as possible because your life does depend on it.

Compression stockings are a good solution to improve circulation as well.  After some long flight induced dvt’s I am now stuck wearing them.  Still better than dying or having my legs double in diameter.  Exercise in general along with a walk around the office hourly really helps.

Support stockings and low dose aspirin are your answer

I must be immune to this. I often sit for more than an hour at a time at work, and occasionally for many hours at a time at home or on planes, no blood clots so far.
