Well, big day has come to let my job know that I have to leave. I was trying to hold out until the end of the year so I can finish out the year with them, but the new job wants me to fly out and start building cars up for next year and will pay me handsomely to do so.
God, is 9 am too early to drink? Cause I need a shot before I do this...
Eh. It's 11 o'clock somewhere. Best of luck, dukey.
Best of luck!
Care to elaborate on the "build cars" line?
Good luck! Man, lots of peops putting in their notice around here...
Tough talks aside. Congrats dude!

Going to Texas to assume the position of "Team Manager" of Bob Stretch's Trans Am team. He has 5 Camaros that need to be torn down and rebuilt in the next 2 months. First race of the 2013 season is March 3rd in Sebring. Gotta have 5 cars ready by then

Either way, good luck.

Yea, and it's something that I actually like and with a car manufacturer that I love. It was going to be a position I was going to settle in and be in for the long haul.
Enter Bob Stretch and the final race of the Trans Am season at Road Atlanta. Got a call asking if I could crew the weekend, told them yes. Anti-Stance and I worked our asses off. Bob came up and talked to me twice (once at the track, once at the Award Banquet) and was asking if I were interested in running the team.
I know the racing world is volatile, but the amount of pay is tripled what I'm currently getting paid, have the chance to run a Championship winning race team, and Bob has other businesses he wants to start with me in mind running them

Jeez, you are a lucky soul. Good luck.... it's probably going to be the most insane, yet most awesome time of your life.
In reply to wbjones:
Luckly the apartment I'll be staying in is the second story part of the race shop, so I can work, then go home. My commute is about 15 steps
Long hours are in my future
Awesome! Congrats on the new gig!
AWESOME!!!!! Congrats man! Isn't he up near Dallas? I need to come by and pay you a visit some time, once you get settled in. It's only a 3 hr drive for me. Let me know when you're settled and are ready for some visitors.
Livin' the dream. Congratulations and best of luck!

Very cool! Awesome to see fellow GRMers progressing in their careers. Please keep us posted on your progress (at least as often as you can).

The team (Wheels America Racing), if I remember correctly, does an open test for people interested in renting a seat for a race or a season. I believe this is the track they do test at.
I got the 2013 schedule, it shows Daytona and The Circuit of the Americas on it, but dates haven't been set
