One of my New Year's resolutions is to play guitar more again. I used to be very serious about it around 10 years ago--an then I turned 27 and hung the dream up.

Now, I'm just looking for creative fulfillment.

This is the bridge/solo to a song that I'm working on with an old friend (and former bandmate from college). He has his high-falootin' day job, but he's still a singer-songwriter. He's been badgering me about collaborating, so we did.

It was done on a Boss Loop Station, thus the full sound.

So there I am, bearing part of my musical soul after being one of the big musical critics/snobs around here.

I should add--

here's a plug for my friend Sean's (dude I'm collaborating with) solo thing:

The one thing I didn't expect this place to lack was an opinion...

I enjoyed your guitar piece. It would be nice to hear a bit more, and interesting to see what you and your friend sound like together.

Speaking of which, I'm not normally a big fan of Seans's style of music, (indie folksy pop?), as I hear so much of it on the radio, and most of it is rubbish. Despite that, I found myself playing his music in the background, and quite enjoying it.

mtn--

I'm to technologically stunted to load a sound clip to youtube. I don't even know if I have the software to do it.

Luke--Funny thing is, "Minus Three" means it's him minus the three guys he played with for the past 15 years. He used to do amped up power-pop. He's a damn talented singer--and I'm not just saying that because I know him. He'd be thrilled to know that you left his page playing.

That piece I posted is just the bridge/outro of a basically complete song. We might have to tweak the layout a tad, but there is a realized idea that is connected to it. I think eventually we might record some sort of maxi single. I dunno if it would be rock or acoustic.

That part I posted was originally an acoustic idea--I was just curious to see what it sounded like all grunged-out.
