Just returned from my first cataract surgery and I have to say it was a pretty darn smooth experience. Prep and anethesia took longer than the actual procedure and i never felt a thing, at least not yet.
But, I left with an ugly, blue, oversized patch; it comes off tomorrow morning when I go in for a follow-up inspection.
I sooo wanted something more akin to an aarghh patch, though.

Next time you need one, order the patch in advance lol.
so what kinda pirate you be?
My father had both eyes done, one at a time. I don't know if it's related, but I have noticed since it was done that he seems to wipe the corners of his eyes a lot/frequently. He didn't do that before and I don't know if it isn't really just his age. (He's 90, but had the surgeries years ago.) My Mom probably wishes she could have "only" cataracts. She has developed macular degeneration. No patches, but LOTS of shots in the eyes.
