Congrats! I'm coming up on 3 years since I quit a pack a day of the Camel Wides.
To angry: I am now the ass-hat who watches someone light up and says "You know them berkeleyin things will kill you, right?"

you must've heard that from a real berkeleystick!
I like the "British Method" of quitting: Refer to cigarettes as fags, every time you go to light up remember that you are about to put a fag in your mouth to suck on for pleasure.
/smoking.

and now that you have a kid, you will think about this every day. oh, and PSA's FTW, sometimes.
Back to Day 1. I've been sneaking them on and off since the 1st of the year. NO MAS! If anybody needs a quittin' buddy, I'm your guy.

That is actually perfectly OK. You have cut down right? Tomorrow is just another day to start again toward that goal.

Damned right. Just gotta keep tryin.
Why have you been sneaking them? Go throw every single one of them down the toilet. You have a daughter.
I've lost a friend over this. He hasn't died, we didn't have a fight, but I moved away and when I come back I don't want to see him. I know if he comes over he is going to leave every 30 minutes. I know if I go over to his place I'll come back smelling like smoke. And if I want to go out to a bar to get a drink, he'll be short on cash because he spent it on smokes.
It is not really his fault--he has been smoking since he was 12 because his parents smoke, and it is that addicting. But I don't want to be around it.
Stick with it dude. You are my inspiration.
I quit in 94...95, 99, 02,05, 11 and then I just quit trying. It's on my bucket list, but I'm going to have to check in with the doctor or get dropped off in the woods somewhere alone. The last time I tried, I damn near went postal. My record is 9 months, starting back is the easiest thing I have ever done.
I don't think you ever really quit being a smoker, you just stop smoking. I've been smoking for almost 30 years, so it's going to be a tough.
Good luck man. You can do it.

Very well said. I quit for over a year this time (doesn't seem like it was that long ago.) I'm a dumbass for starting back.
@mtn: Sneaking as in smoking only at work; not at home, not on weekends. By "day 1" I meant, I quit today ;)
