It occurred to me today as I was emailing a guy with tires and wheels he can't take with him when he moves that trying to slow down my race budget is exactly the same as trying to lose weight. I have to be constantly vigilant around donuts, Whoppers.....
Last season I spent all the money in the world, won my region in class and overall, came home with about $30 worth of trophies, glory, and a satisfied feeling. I was sure that I was going to run 2-3 events at the most this year.
I have 6 new Rota Slipstreams coming on the UPS truck, 6 Goodyear R's coming through the local circle track supplier, and now gently used Nittos and Koseis seem to be on the table too. I can only behave for so long, then I weaken.......Hoefully he's sold them already.
I feel your pain. I had a pizza buffet for lunch today.

I thought this was going to be about rider weight reduction vs. chassis weight reduction. Instead, I'm now jealous that I have 0 Rotas, and you (potentially) have 2 more than any car can use at one time.
Smith did say it was easier to get the race car driver to lose weight than the race car.
I have even worse problems. Classing be damned, I just bought some used Koni's and Eibachs for my Supra on ebay for 210 dollars!
I'm nearly finished with my 24 day Challenge:
http://www.the24daychallenge.com/
I've lost about 20 inches of fat from around my body and dropped only 15lbs of weight (gained muscle and definition in the process)
Figured, I couldn't do anything but lose weight if I wanted to continue fitting in small cars, like I still can. Plus struggling to climb over the door bars in our ChumpCar told me I needed to do something as I sit all day for work and my muscles were atrophying badly and the random workout schedule wasn't helping.

I used to take fitness for granted - jumping horses, running and working out at the Y kept me in great shape in my 20s and 30s. And if I slacked off, 2 weeks of working out and I'd be buff again.
But man! Does that ever change when you hit mid-forties. Not to mention the sedentary nature of working on a computer. I gained ten pounds last year and I'm struggling mightily to lose it, and whittle down some of the little extra I've picked up around my waist.
I can still fit easily into an Elise though, would like to keep it that way.

O rly?
I have a total of 8 Rotas, show me a car that can use all of them at one time.

Did I just win a set of Rotas?

I'm going after the king of bad weight, that nasty unsprung stuff.
Plus I've gotta weight the Neon up to 2650 anyway. It still has a radio in it.
