Anybody know of some smartphone apps for racing? I'm not talking games I'm talking G-meters, cameras, data recorders and the like.

I know there are some out there but I've seen drag racing apps only so far.

Interested in the same thing too. A few 1/4 mile drag meters are out there, but nothing with lateral g's.

I like the look of Trackmaster for Android, but my current phone's GPS is too wonky to get it to work. It's not Trackmaster's fault, I don't think. Google's MyTracks (for tracking my cycling routes) also can't get a decent GPS lock most of the time, unlike with my old G1.

Don't buy an HTC Hero. My G1 was an HTC and it was fine, but the Hero is spectacularly awful.

There's a ton of good stuff for the iphone, I'm not as familiar with the Droid/Google apps.

G-Meter
TrackPro
Dynolicious and Dynolicious LogBox (my go-to app for lateral g tests)
TrackOnMap
Pocketdyno
AutoXLogger
Garret BoostAdviser

There are tons more, but the innovation has slowed. Most of the newer ones are an awful lot like what already exists.

There is a perfect app your looking for on a android phone. Its called Grassroots Drag Racing. It has G-meter that records video along with results and shares it on facebook and others. It has a nice Drag Tree Simulator and a excellent data Drag Race Log Recorder with sharing features. Its a dedicated app for us bracket racers. Check it out on the market or go to wwww.grassrootsdragracing.com/app

Do any of these capture 30-70 data?

0-60 and1/4 mile times are hard to do on public roads.

You'll need to log in to post.
