So I bought a greyhound radiator mascot at a street rod show this weekend. It's not a Lincoln greyhound however. It's very art deco like with facets. Can't read the entire manufacturer's name. All I can read is...
_RONE SEBEN MFG CO. The space may or may not be a letter and the last N may not be an N.
I'll get pics soon.
Please help. It's going to end up a gift for my wife in honor of our passed greyhounds. She's actually always wanted one.
The greyhound mascots were very common on Fords as well. Lots of aftermarket companies made them.
If it looks like this one, you may have hit the jackpot:
This one is from a 1929 Delage
Nope. Not it. But similar. Front legs are stretched out in front.
What is says is:
KRONE SEBEK MFG. CO. They were out of Chicago, Ill
This it?

Am I the only who thought this thread was going to be about cleaning dead bugs off the fins?

Here it is. The front legs are short as they are broken. Any suggestions on how to clean it up?
I'd start with Naval Jelly and then 0000 steel wool.
Chromed steel? WD40 and a brass bristle brush. Aluminum, semi-chrome paste and a shop rag.
Nice find.
Still can't figure out who manufactured it.

Was already posted above.
Looking at the cap it's mounted to, it's for a Model A Ford and it's an aftermarket piece.
Lincoln and 1932+ Fords all have 1/4 turn caps. Model A original style filler necks are threaded.

That's what I get for staying up late. Thanks. Know anything more about the company? My Google-fu is week.
Couldn't find anything about Krone Sebek but I did find this:

About halfway down the page, you can see a very similar mascot titled: Accessory Cubist Whippet or Greyhound ( #173 ) Chrome Plated ~ Franklin Die Casting Co., Inc.

Looks like another company used the same mold. This one has not lost the detail that yours has.
Still a beautiful piece you've got, will make a really nice and thoughtful gift, good job!
