If you're in or around Raleigh, NC and want to take part in some autocross, rallycross, track days or other events, drop me a line. There are lots of events through the year happening in the general area full of other grassroots motorsports kinds of people. If you've been wanting to get more involved in the scene but don't know where to start, we can help!
In regards to the rallycross, I'll take anybody for a ride along if I'm at an event. For the others, I have to get a car that can do them, still.
I just moved to Raleigh from the Charlotte area a few months ago and would love to know about any events going on. Just started a new job and got married so my time is limited but if I can make an event I would love to go! I have really wanted to try a rallycross but I am very scared to mess up my WRX, its my only car and the thought of tearing it up scares me, an autocross doesn't bother me, and I have done a few in it and hopefully will be able to make the THSCC one in Fayetteville at the end of October.
The Wilson rallycross is on the fairgrounds. No rocks, level ground, nothing to hit and fast courses. If you just want to have fun, come on out and take a few laps, get sideways and throw some dirt around. Nobody will judge you if you're not trying to win and just getting the hang of things.
That said, if you come out and introduce yourself, quite a few people have old beaters they don't mind letting people take for a drive.
