There seems to be enough music discussion on here, it occurred to you a bunch of Americans (or non-CBC types)might be interested in this radio show. Randy Bachman has been in the music industry since the mid 60's- you may have heard of The Guess Who, and BTO? He's met just about everybody, and has an encyclopedic knowledge of guitars and popular music. CBC has a lot of podcasts, plus its broadcast on Sirius satellite radio. Worth a listen for some history.

Looks interesting. It's interesting that Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings are megastars in Canada while they're moderately famous here.

I'll have to give a listen when I get the chance.

I heard from someone in the biz recently that they still make insane money when they tour in Canada. Here, they play casinos.

Burton Cummings is so good, they named the theatre in Winnipeg after him.

Been listening to VT for a long time. CBC has some great shows, and that's one of them. I bet a lot of people on here would like the age of persuasion. It's a 30 minute show all about advertising by an advertising exec. Very well done, and very entertaining.

I love Age of Persuasion. One of the best series ever, including TV.

Nostalgia is big these days, and from what I'm told, some of the casinos pay well, and old guys pay good money to relive their youth. My first concert was the Guess who (Randy and Burt for those who don't know) in 1972. I begged my dad to take me. I was 10.

I met him years ago at his studio. His engineer had a great term I still use, fader dents. It refers to following asleep on the console and waking up with dents on your head.

It was a really cool studio.
