i scanned through R&T too.... i had basically the same 3 reactions, plus one
at the article about corn ethanol and E15.
I read that mag as well. I second the hatred of E15 and a turbo diesel/hybrid evo. I think whatever the Hennessey people are smoking should be force fed to the other car makers out there. The new C&D had a small thingy on the new Taurus cop car. That was kinda cool, too. I'm sad it isn't RWD, though. I was also sad the rx8 r3 got the slowest lap time at VIR, but as the car with the least horsepower and FAR less torque then any others, i'm not surprized one bit. Someday there will be a turbo for this car, and I will get it... of course, then my engine will blow, and then it'll be LSx time.
I'm wondering if the turbo-diesel EVO isn't like the many models of the Lancer that "hint" at the speed and roadholding of the original....but are really just pale imitations. Sort of like the Ralliart Editions are now.
Or, it could just be Mitsu's reaction to the stricter CO2 limits imposed by many European countries.
The current maxima was also rumored to have a diesel and a six speed before it was on American roads. Don't fret too much. And if it does happen, embrace the awesome torque of the diesel.
