I have a citizen that I really like a lot. It's one of the "eco-drive" ones and never having to change a battery is pretty nice.
Its lasted me a while now, and my only real complaint is the pin holding the clasp broke when I dropped it and I got it fixed for free with generic parts that don't fit and snag on my clothing.
I am also ruggedly handsome, and I can tell you that it is the watch for people like us 
I think these are cool in a geeky way.
I gave up on watches....I use my cell phone for time. 
Anyway, this BRM watch is about 100 times beyond your limit, but they do look cool.

And when you want to actually go into the midst of the E36 M3, leave those at home where they are safe and wear a Timex Expidition. 
I have a couple of Tissot...Tissi? But always wear the TE when I'm in the field. But it is not a dive watch, I have had it to 20 ft in freshwater with no problems. The waterproof leather wears for years, as do the batteries. The week spot is the band pins.
I can find no real information on this watch, and I can't really tell from going through their catalog which one it's based on, but I figure any Jorg Gray is pretty cool. I won this auction earlier today and I think I flat stole the thing.

It looks good, it's affordable, you can see it at night, it has an alarm, a very good stopwatch, and its made out of titanium.
I wear this watch and its the best one i've have ever had. Once you go titanium you never want to wear anything else because of the weight. Any regular watch just feels offensive and hey, its a Seiko.
I like my watches the same way I like my cell phones: simple and tough. The watch snobs will turn up their noses, but I have had a Swiss Army Officer's watch since 1998 and I just cannot kill it, it's been immersed in every noxious fluid known to man and once got yanked off my wrist by a spinning knobby tire. 
Its one drawback is that it takes someone who knows what they are doing to replace the battery. Mine is very similar to this one but it has a ratcheting bezel (no longer offered). Mine also is not the Victorinox, it appears that Victorinox bought out the original Swiss Army brand.

seiko makes a good watch too. I had a Honda Racing Team edition for about a month...then I lost it.

I've never had one of the watches, but pretty much all I carry are Victorinox knives. If the watches are half as good, it'd be tough to go wrong.
I have a Swiss Army Infantry Automatic. It says Victorinox on the back, Swiss Army on the front. I have had it for a few years and really like it.
By the way, I found this one on eBay. It was supposedly used but looked brand-new and came with all of the boxes. Price was very fair, too.
I've got a watch styled like David's Swiss Army one as well - but mine has a face that looks like a tach, complete with a redline at around 7 pm.

So that's how it worked out. Mine says 'Swiss Army Brand' on the back but makes no mention of Wenger or Victorinox. Still a damn good watch; simple, rugged and accurate and I'd definitely buy another. The 1814 averages about $395 most places, I got mine in St Thomas for $249.
I haven't worn a watch in a couple years, but this thread got the bug going again. I decided to buy myself a christmas gift when I saw a deal on an Invicta 9094 on Amazon the other day. $57 for a very nice looking automatic watch with free overnight shipping (that model seems to go for $90-120 normally). I had a little Amazon gift balance to spend, and I couldn't pass it up. I know some people have mixed feelings about Invictas, but this seems like a very nicely built watch, easily the nicest I've ever owned, and looks and feels far more expensive than it was. I love the window on the back for gawking at the mechanism, even if it is a relatively cheap movement. I'd love to have have a Tag or a Bell & Ross eventually, but I'll probably always end up buying parts or tires instead. This one should satisfy the bug for a little bit anyway.
I like that swiss army, when was the last time the swiss actually fought in an army? They were too damned busy doing the book keeping for the germans during ww2 to do any armed action themselves.
I guess if anyone ever attacks the vatican watch out for those vicious swiss guards.
Orvis Titanium Chronograph. Super light weight, and it doesn't transfer heat.
The brand has been very good to you in the past, why not stick with it?
I work outdoors the majority of the year, pickup up this as my only watch, rugged enough for work, can be worn to 'functions' :)

First thought - Can your current watch be repaired for $200? I think that a watch that I got in the military and had for 22 years would be worth saving. Or not - your call. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

I have repaired my old watch once before, and have relpaced the batteries about 7 times ($30 each time)
My wife and I have been "shopping around" since the start of this thread. I may end up with nearly the same watch as the one I had. Old habbits die hard?

In reply to cwh, I bought a Rolex Submariner replica when I was in Shanghai a couple of years ago. As a Westerner you're a target for every street vendor on the promenade along the river. Standard asking price is 600 yuan. If you stick to your guns you can get a nice replica for 60, that was 7 bucks at the time ! My Submariner was a really good duplicate. I've put it side-by-side with a real one and you can't tell the difference unless you turn it over.Real Rolexes don't have a transparent back. It was self-winding and worked fine until I buggered it up working on the car, no fault of the watch. I assume the replicas one would buy here for 50-60 bucks are much the same watch. I'd buy one again and just wear my old Timex in the garage. If I ever get back to Shanghai, I'll buy a half dozen of them! I was also offered 10 Omega clones for a hundred yuan.
