I have my headphones in most of the day now and I find myself running out of podcasts.
I have Junk Connosuiers and political and history stuff.
For history I like Hardcore History and more comedy stuff like Louis CK and Shane Gillis going over the presidents. Can't find a more frequent consistent one though. Don't want a basic retelling of history, Id rather hear about the details that always get skipped. Also find stuff in the same genre as Graham Carlson interesting.
I don't normally do car stuff, but will check out things in the same vein as JC.
Already do a bunch of political so not really looking for more unless someone has an actual debate show where you get to hear both sides.
Any other recommendations? My productivity begs you
For widespread subjects, I enjoy the 'Stuff You Should Know' podcast.
I wish Graham Hancock and Randall Carlson would do their own, they're my favorite recurring guests on Rogan, up there with Forrest Gallante.
Steve O has a decent one if you care about 90s celebs and can put up with his voice.
BillBert is alright for comedy once in a while.
If you were ever into wrestling, 87 weeks from Eric Bischoff and Foley Is Pod from Mick Foley are pretty good.
Here are a few that I listen to:
- The Carmudgeon Show - Jason Cammisa and a friend of his talking about car stuff.
- The Rest is History - Two Brits talking about stuff, have learned a bunch of things listening to them.
- Dinner with Racers - One of my favorites.
- Life with Legends - This one is OK, not my favorite. Its Justin Bell talking to people in the racing/auto industry.
- Revolutions - This guy goes over some of the most important Revolutions. He goes very in depth, sometimes too much, but interesting.
- Last Best Hope - Brits talking about US history/politics. I think its an interesting perspective.
- Planet Money
- Pete & Gary's Military History - Two authors talking about Military history, its fun to listen to.
- Hardcore History: Addendum

GRM podcasts.
Any plans to revive that? Last new episode I see is from 2016.
In addition to the others mentioned, I'll throw in The Smoking Tire, Matt Farrah's pod. Him and Zack lead interesting car-filled lives and he gets some great guests on there. I also like Driving While Awesome, from the founders of Radwood, mostly about the 80s and 90s cars we all love around here. Past Gas is from the Donut Media guys, they tell the story of some car-related thing on every episode, though the voices and bits they do can be tiresome after a while.
Under the influence gives listeners a rare backstage pass into the hallways, boardrooms and recording studios of the ad industry. Join host and adman Terry O’Reilly for fascinating (and humorous) stories that connect the dots between pop culture, marketing and human nature.
Are You Garbage is a comedy podcast hosted by 2 Philly stand up comics whom openly admit and profess that they are in fact garbage. It also often provides an interesting peek/perspective to how differently people were raised and how they navigated their way to success once they left home.
Unsolved Mysteries Podcast is pretty awesome IMO.
Not sure if it's helpful and I don't know if any of these are what you are looking for, but here's what my current rotation looks like:
- Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend
- Carter's Condensed History the Podcast
- Raiders of the Lost Podcast
- Podcast But Outside
- Clear+Vivid with Alan Alda
- Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!
- Unspooled
- Screenwriters Need to hear This with Michael Jamin

Big Picture Science by Seth Shostak PhD who is the senior astronomer at SETI.
I have a few I listen to whenever I'm on the road, just to give you some others to consider:
- WTF Podcast - It's basically a talk show with celebs, kinda like a long version of late night, but Maron does pretty good about teasing things out of people. I generally skip past his intros and just get to the interview. I also cherry pick people I'm interested in and don't listen to every one.
- Beyond The Grid - Does F1 and F1 related interviews. If you're into F1, it's a good one to listen to
- Dinner With Racers - I haven't listened to them in quite a while, but the backlog of racing themed ones is excellent.
There's a whole bunch above that I'll now be adding to my list, though.

Lex Fridman for sure. I actually got out a notebook and took notes on this one:

I dont listen to much celebrity or car stuff.
I did start Real Dictators recently. Its very good.
I like Lex, just have to pick his stuff for when Im doing something mindless so I can actually pay attention, not something I would consider easy listening.
My wife does SYSK, I check it out occasionally, not many episodes have really held my interest though.
I do 2 Bears, Matt and Shane, Tim Dillon, and the JRE stuff for comedy (protect our parks is some of the funniest E36 M3 Ive listened to)
Gonna try the Rest is History, Revolutions, Best Last Hope, You are not so smart, unsolved mysteries.
I enjoy historical stuff but generally the pretty detailed granular stuff that goes over the things normally not talked about (ala Hardcore History), also enjoy a good conspiracy theory/unsolved mystery/cryptid stuff, do a lot of current events but not celeb or culture stuff normally more of US politics, world politics or financial stuff, but i have found it hard to find someone who actually fair so thats why I like the ones around debate or when a guest is on that disagrees.
Trem - I havent heard of almost all the shows you mentioned, gonna add a couple to the list.
Ive got a lot to get done tomorrow so Ill have a bunch to try out. Should keep my mind busy while I work.
Seconding No Such Thing as a Fish.
I also like the BBC introducing podcast for a musical break from talky people. Have found quite a few bands I enjoy starting there.

In reply to travellering :
added it to the list.
When I have to really focus I switch to a pandora station I have been cultivating for probably a decade. Its spot on for my music taste 90% of the time and still introduces me to new stuff that, as the kids say, slaps.

I banned Lex from the garage because I cannot focus on tasks when he has a good guest - which is usually.

Who else is old enough to remember when you had to tune in to Art Bell to hear anything outside the mainstream? That was when the internet was nascent, the fastest connections to said were still dial-up, we didn't quite yet understand "urban legends", and around 3:00 am he'd come on and scare the living berk out of me.
