I would love to be able to partake. I know they did this in St Louis not long ago and if they came back, I would have probably tried to wiggle TalkStL in. Looks like a blast, although, I'm sure I may come up with enough sponsors to do some crazy ass thing similar.

A Flugtag is where people build home made contraptions and fly off of a platform into a body of water. I went to one in Philly a few years ago and there was 40 mph winds and a fraction of the floats jumped off and alot of people chickened out and bailed. Fun time nonetheless.
Flugtag Tampa 2011 had 125,000 spectators and some really, really bad designs. I wonder how many pilots required physical therapy after this?
Basically, you build a craft that will be human powered - you push it along a flat runway off a platform into water. Youre judged on style, flight, and some other shenanigans...think LeMons except flying.

Hold it in Fort Worth and they have the clear fork of the Trinity without all the sewage & heavy metal pollution plus they have the park right at downtown for easy access.
I've always wanted to go to one of these things.
Held it in St. Paul a few years ago, It was amazing. I wanted to go, but I couldn't get within a mile of the place. Over 100k people.

that adds to the excitement. its right across 114 from las colinas country club, if you know the area. lots of office buildings and apartments around to watch from.
