IMO, Adblock is the condom of the web browser. If "you" as a site operator require that I disable it, then I require that "you" assume all liability if an ad on your system compromises my computer. I value my computer at approximately more than "you" value your entire business.
The funny thing is, the ads that the GRM website runs are not recognized by either of my ad blocks (Firefox/Win7 on one, Chrome/Android on the other) as ads. At least, ads show up. None that redirect, and I get no notification that a redirect attempt took place. Which, really, is all I ask...
Walmart cloudfront redirect ad
Got this one just now when I refreshed the latest topics page.
Got this one today another cloudfront walmart redirect.

Exactly. When we discussed ad block last time I said this same thing: I run Adblock here because they do not control their ads. Ads are an injection point for malware. Control your ads and I might whitelist. No way I'm going to whitelist when random ads can be injected into your page. It's vector control. This isn't the first time there's been a problem and it won't be the last.
I'm still having problems with this.
In reply to JamesMcD :
Yeah, the webmaster is at SEMA, so we'll have to be patient.
I got this fellow just now when I clicked on the page 2 link on the eye lasers thread.

Adblock is your friend.
Ghostery is too. And Firefox for Android.
For what it's worth. I use Dolphin for my browser on Android and haven't had any issues with redirects or popup adds on this site.

When the webmaster returns will they be cleaning any malware off systems that get infected by these rouge ads? No? Maybe it would be wise to shut off all the ads until the offending ones can be identified. I understand that folks are busy but if ads are being used as a vector to introduce redirects which at best are used for phishing and can be used to distribute malware it seems like a more aggressive approach would be prudent.
(Not really directed at you, ECM. Not shooting the messenger, it's just frustrating to see a potential security exposure left open when there are relatively simple ways to temporarily mitigate that risk)
In reply to wae :
If I had any control over the ads I would have pressed the pause button I have not heard any mention of malware being distributed on member's phones (I'm pretty sure this issue is limited to mobile devices but if I'm incorrect on either count please let me know. ) This appears to be a simple redirect to an advertisement that opens in a new tab or in some cases takes over the GRM tab that was open. It will be addressed asap.
While you are addressing things. I am getting a really annoying pop up that is saying GRM wants my email and to subscribe to grm
1. I just re upped my ten year script so I dont need to subscribe.
2. I am signed in as a user on the forum. You all know who I am and have my email. You probably know more about me than I do at this point.
Is this part of the pop up problem you are talking about? For a while it was only occurring when I was logged on the CMS side but it has recently started showing up when I log on to GRM. It is also cross platform I get it on IPhone, Window’s 10 pc and windows phone and android.
Alright so we looked into this a little and it looks like it's known common malware on devices. I'm going to get with our developers and make sure that's most likely the issue.
Also, the GRM pop-up you're seeing is for e-newsletter signups. If you close it, you shouldn't see it again in a few weeks.
In reply to Ed Higginbotham :
While I certainly could have malware on my phone, I only get these pop ups on this site, and it is always after clicking sonething that generates a new page (and therefore new ads on that page). I surf several sites many times per day and have not had one pop up ad on those sites. Thanks for looking into this

I am also only seeing these pop-ups when visiting this site. I also noticed they are increasing in frequency.
I ran Malwarebytes on my phone after I got it the first time, it came back clean.
Yep, only on GRM while on my android phone. No where else and no other site.

Same here.
It was happening several times a day a couple weeks ago but it hasn't happened at all in the last several days.
I'll pile on and corroborate that this is only happening to me while browsing GRM on my Android phone.
Alright folks. I think we may have found the offending ad on our ad server. We blocked it. Let me know if you see this ad again. Hoping it's gone.
In reply to logdog :
Have you tried running Malwarebytes? Anyone else seen the redirect since this morning?
Amazon redirect
I just got this one a minute ago. Took over the GRM tab on my browser, no backsies option.
Ack! Back to the drawing board.
