We have an Amana fridge that's not quite 6-years old. I moved it down from IL last weekend, left it standing upright & unplugged all week, and just brought it in the house & hooked it up tonight.
Everything was fine when I connected the water line - until I installed a new filter. I heard water running inside the unit & looked around back to see water running all over the floor. I removed the filer & water started pouring out there too.
I pulled the back cover & checked the lines. I didn't find any broken or any signs of leakage. Water never used to run out the filter housing with the filter removed either, so something seems broken - I'm just not sure what?
Picture of the offending unit.
Could the solenoid be stuck open? If you just hooked it up, could a piece of trash in the line be keeping it from seating all the way? I'm not an appliance guy, so I'm just guessing.

It didn't leak until i installed a filter, so I'm not sure?
Faulty filter, bad o ring?
In reply to TRoglodyte :
It wouldn't be the filter - it didn't leak before installing one, but continued to leak after removing it.
What I can't tell, in the pic of the filter mount above, is what's inside that fitting(or how to disassemble & remove it). The o-rings that are visible are fine.
Do you have the old filter? Pop it in maybe the new one was made on Monday.
Lame answer. Plastic seal on filter removed?
I don't think it's directly related to the filter because it started leaking underneath the fridge when I installed the new filter, then started leaking from the filter housing when I removed it.
I'm calling around tomorrow. The first problem is I really need a shutoff for the line to the fridge, and both of the 1/4" shutoffs I tried from Lowes leaked instantly. I'm not sure if an appliance tech can also fix that or if I'll need to call a plumber first though.
The plumber arrived and got a working/non-leaking shutoff valve installed, and also confirmed something inside the fridge is still leaking. I found the filter I'd removed from it that I know was good, so I'll be doing a little troubleshooting tonight & see if I can tell where the leak is coming from.
With a working shutoff valve on the fridge and a bit of time to troubleshoot, I found the broken part:
It's the blue piece in this pic, and you can see the crack to the left of the solenoid. Unfortunately I can't find a model# for this fridge anywhere on it, or in the manual, to look up parts. There's a sticker in the door that could have been it, but it's worn out.
Any idea how to find either the model# or to search for this part without it?

Isn't that the sticker right there in the pic? Model number AFD2535DEB10? http://www.appliancepartspros.com/icemaker-parts-for-amana-afd2535deb10.html
If that's not a red herring, then it looks like you need an AP6021208 valve assembly for sixty bucks.
Hidden in the shadows on right of your picture is your model and serial number ;=).
Model # AFD2535DEB10
SN AMA02757087
It looks like this is the water valve

Good luck
You guys have WAY better vision than I do...then again, I stuck my phone down there in the dark for that pic. Lol
Sorry, Wae - I left for a bit while writing my post and it looks like you beat me to it.
Hope you can get in there to fix it, Pete.
