A local grocery store chain knocks $0.10 off every gallon when you spend $XXX. I don't know exactly what the rules are.
Spouse was shopping Friday and the clerk said if she didn't use her gas points up by the end of the month she would lose them.
Saturday morning we both had errands to run so we headed out in different vehicles but stopped at the Sunoco station. Put the card in, yes, $1.80 off every gallon. I put a few in the Ranger to top it off then put the hose in the 4-Runner. It stopped pumping at 20 gallons. That must be the limit.
$1.80 X 20 = $36. I have to buy gas and groceries anyway so I'm calling it 36 free dollars.

Well done!
I know of program where grocery's equal discount on gas but....
I have a unique situation, I now have a company car that comes with a gas credit card. I can buy gas just about anywhere. What I am looking for is a reason to take my business to one station over another. Does anyone know of discount plans that will provide me with personal rewards (not to my company) for making all my purchases with one brand?

Speedway and SuperAmerica stations have a loyalty card. I've got 12,000 points, which I don't know what to do with...

And now that I checked, my 12,000 points will get me nine slices of crappy gas station pizza. Yippee.

Kroger does this somewhat. Unfortunately, my car hates their gas. So... i just let my points go. But their loyalty card in the first place is good for an average of $50 in savings everytime i go grocery shopping.
My MIL shops Kroeger but doesn't drive enough to empty the tank. She gives the gas away.
I just shop at work, Wegmans, and we dont have a "points for gas" program. I'm content with $.05/gallon off with my Kwik Fill card, and it is all North American oil...

My cars can't digest their stuff, but SWMBO's truck loves it. I know I've said some bad things about domestics, but I gotta admit-that thing (92 Olds Bravada 4.2 Vortec) would run on turpentine if it had to. We've tanked up at some really snarky places, and it just keeps on chooglin'.
And x2 on the Loyalty Card. She used to work at the very Kroger we visit, and she parted with them on such good terms (she wanted to stay, but lost her child care) that they never terminated her employee privileges. Between that and the discounts, we can fill up the fridge & pantry for less than $110-120.

Yep, i used to think it was cheaper to do my grocery shopping at WalMart, but once i realized that this year, i'm on track to save about $1000 using that Kroger card, the choice was easy.
I always offer to top off the car at Kroger when someone else is driving on a road trip. Most cars burn it fine but I do not put it in the RX-8, The lawnmower drinks it too.

Note to self: bring the gas can next time SWMBO hits the pumps.
Thanks for the heads-up on the mower, pilot!

"She Who Must Be Obeyed". The wife, the "significant other", the girlfriend you actually want to hang around with for more than thirty minutes at a time.
An aside: I can't help but notice that all my ol' buddies that call me "Bob Costas-whipped", are laying around with much less "Bob Costas" under themselves than I have...
