Is this a new scam?

I've been searching for places to trade the excursion so I don't have to deal with selling it, and a new thing I've been seeing are "rent to own, no credit checks". Funny enough, these ads have no prices whatsoever, just a spiel about "all our cars have under 100k and come with a 12 month 26500 mile warranty".

Is this the new buy here pay here standard?

Edit: just to be clear, I'm not gonna do it. I have damn good credit and there's a thread floating around to prove it. I'm just wondering if anyone else had seen them, or knew if they needed a dealers license because it sounds lucrative.

I'm not familiar with rent to own cars but yeah, it seems like Buy Here-Pay Here.  But, even worse the car is probably not really in your name and there as many ways the dealer likely has for taking the car back.  I'll bet the whole structure is based on Fees on top of Fees.
