I need to upgrade/replace the headunit in my disco. As I am limited to 1 or 1.5 din without resorting to surgery, I am have been thinking of the Pioneer AVH-3300NEX with it's flip up screen. While obviously it would be stupid to do any sort of serious offroading with the screen up, where it is most vulnerable, what is the hive's opinion on it?

What's the purpose of the large screen?
So you can see what is playing a lot larger? Clearly you are not going to play videos on it. Is there nav hooked up to it?
Certainly more mechanical parts to fail.
In reply to aircooled :
Apple Play and Android Auto. The software allows the head unit to mirror a phones functions for a limited set of tasks such as navigation and better control over audio played from the device.
The Pioneer units are typically very well reviewed. I was looking to get one at some point but it hasn't been a priority. Interested to hear your thoughts if you pull the trigger.
I’m not a fan of these! Never saw the point plus I think they are hideous. Most of the ones I’ve seen were broken but they were in cars being repoed.
