A well written letter.

I'm sure you have an opinion.
That sounds like a fun match-up. The man does have a point though, he has been democratically elected for doing what he has been doing for the past years so why does he care if Al Sharpton gets upset with him for doing what he feels is his job?
I take offense to Al Sharpton being called a Reverend. He has not shown the world that he is a Godly man. I would suggest he start in his own house of worship and once that is in order branch out to his local community. I don’t think he would ever make it out of New York City. If not for the untimely death of Martin Luther King I doubt we would know the name Al Sharpton. I believe he chooses to champion causes based on the publicity he personally will receive, not based on the good he can do for those he "represents" this does not represent a Christian attitude in my opinion. Of course you are entitled to disagree with me and I encourage you to do so. I shall also fight to the death to preserve yours and Al Sharptons right to disagree with me.
Damn 914 you got me stirred up. I gotta go kick something.
I've often suspected that Al has an extra fist hidden in his hair, but I doubt he could pave a driveway without Chuck Norris' help.
Oops.. did I say that out loud?
Dang.
The best comment I've ever seen regarding Sharpton was Aaron McGruder's response after Sharpton criticized an episode of the animated "Boondocks" in which Martin Luther King uses the "N-word".

Sharpton was "outraged". Within a week, McGruder crafted a wonderful reply in his original comic strip.

Sharpton doesn't even seem to be smart enough to understand that he is part of the problem that inspired McGruder to make that episode in the first place.
And as far as Sharpton's handlers decision to send him after Fuhrer Joe, all I can do is remember that even a broken clock is right twice a day..

Porksboy, I agree 100%. I believe Rev. Al did have a congregation at one time and he pushed civil rights buttons.
So how Christian is kicking something?
Friedgreen, it was explained to me a long time ago by an inner city black man that blacks can call each other the N word; it's a name given by whites and insulting when used by whites.

Boondocks is a great show to watch for entertainment and education.

Oh, understood. I was `working class poor' after I got divorced, and lived in a run-down neighborhood. There was another ruckus when Boondocks first started airing because they used the word at all..but it was used just the same way my friends used it on each other. I really didn't get what all the fuss was about. I suppose having Dr. King use it would arouse a few knee-jerk passions, but anyone who's seen the episode (and the context) thinks it's brilliant. McGruder won a Peabody for it.
