"Anybody with ability can play in the big leagues. To last as long as I did with the skills I had, with the numbers I produced, was a triumph of the human spirit."

Thanks, Bob Uecker, for the laughs!

Uecker often joked that the best way to catch a knuckleball was to wait until it stopped rolling and pick it up.

RIP.

I always enjoyed hearing what he had to say. He made me laugh.

Who remembers him from Mr. Belvedere?

I would have loved to see him speak live.  He had such a deadpan delivery talking about his "skills".  I think, maybe, there is a speech of his from his induction in Cooperstown.  As a broadcaster, I presume.  Well worth the 20 minutes.

The world is a bit less funny today.

He was great and having him call games was something I'll always appreciate.  The man knew the game.  I spent a LOT of hours listening to him.  RIP.

Sticking it to racism, in a way only he could.

Gibson and him were holding hands for the Cardinals team photo.
