The way it used to be.

If anyone is interested, I found it for $8.70 at slickmagazines. I'm going to give it a shot.
I've subscribed to R&T since 1992 when they had an FD RX7 on the cover, that was my own magazine. Before that I used to read my dad's, which I still have dating to the 70's.
I used to read them from cover to cover, now I only read Peter Egan's column. I just read a couple of months ago a column by Larry in which he mentions the original GTI he had and really liked. I also liked the one about the Ferrari and 928. Seems like a cool guy.
Right now, those two columns are the only reason I am still subscribed after all these years. The rest of the magazine is not what it used to be.
I think I have been a subscriber for 30+ years and I guess since I still have years to go on my subscription I will get to check it out next month. I often wonder why I kept up with it all these years but I guess it was just a constant in my mailbox all these years and I couldn't imagine not getting it.
The bob lutz interview would be interesting. No other articles listed on the cover grabbed my attention.
In the past the articles weren't just about the cars. Which is important...
If I couldn't give 2 E36 M3s about a car, at least the article was worth reading because they would tell what it was like driving said car around Iceland, or biographical information, following the Ohio presidential trail in the case of driving econo boxes around Ohio.
One of the most memorable articles to me was a trip driving the Dempster highway with a Corvette. I am not a Corvette fan but I was hanging on the next page to see what would happen, and hoped the Corvette would make it to the end..
I do care about MPG, skid pad ratings reliability ect... But that info I can get on the internet when I am ready to buy a car... For me to buy a magazine like RnT, I am almost more interested in the drive (where they take it), than the car..

If you have one of these, I demand pics and elaboration!
I too gave up on the mag in the 90's. I do like the look of the cover since I have recently started to collect vintage car mags. For the right price, I would try it for a year.
It'll run in the Toronto Star soon, will post! The Callaway guys brought their SC606 to Toronto last month. I spent some time with Reeves, Chris and Mike, and they let me take the car out for a couple of hours. It was a beast. :-)
You'll need to log in to post.
