Who knows? It might be a good episode. Considering it hasn't been made yet I'm ok sitting back and waiting for the final product.
What exactly is a sellout? I'd like to see those guys get paid to make entertaining youtube vids. Does that make them a sellout? Now, I don't want every video they make to be about Dodge's latest project. I do like the idea of them having some extra cash to do more entertaining stuff.
^This. Let's stop making profit a crime FFS. They have yet to produce an episode which I didn't find at least moderately entertaining. Until they do and the reason they do is because they gave in to a sponsor I'll be happy to keep enjoying their product.
umm.. They do get paid to make entertaining youtube vids. Adsense pays..

No part of either of our posts claimed they didn't get paid. Only that we supported them getting paid, getting paid is good...ummmkay?

Ive never seen mightycarmods but i plan to soon. Anybody care to recommend any particular episodes?
The Euro Street Cred episode is what turned me on to them. If you've ever visited VWVortex you'll relate and LOL.
Their movies about the Japanese car culture are awesome too.
I do think that roadkill has hit its peak as far as 100% real and no filtered crazy hackary zip tie "ah it will hold" ness that we love. But they know what they are and what they are doing. They know why we are watching and what we like to see. They will not become a new GMG, if you keep up with MCM (mighty car mods) you will know how true those guys are. The had a chance to be on top gear (down under) they could just do the show and make a killing from it but that's not what they want! They kept full time jobs and kept doing the show on the side. Now they are able to do larger and more in depth builds because of free parts. So if roadkill follows those steps I think we will all stay happy. And why get up set this is sweet the little fish poking the big fish with a stick to see if he will bite! Sounds like fun to me!

For those that dont follow along this is what Finnegan and Freiburger are currently toying with. A bobbed 50 Ford F6 with a flathead. I don't think they've lost their way quite yet ;)
And to show how they are not planned at all, I think key word "think" that they were going to drive that from Atlanta to Indianan or somewhere like that but ended up taking the el camino so sounds like the truck went south on them. Also just watch the last top gear was so sad to hear them say goodbye and not goodnight had to grab some tissues for dad he is taken it really hard.
Yeah, the Ford shown above lost brakes. Likely with them driving it.
Roadkill would wipe the floor with MCM.
Funny dudes, but those aussies outsource almost everything but aesthetics, bolt-ons, and suspension work... F + F do everything.
Don't get me wrong, I'll watch the hell out of it, just don't think MCM can compete without backup.
Ooh, it'd never happen, but a no-help throw-down would be awesome.
F + F vs Marty and Moog vs Rawlins and Kaufman.
No help, limited budget, limited time.
Yeah, would watch.

they were going to drive it from wherever they were to the Car Craft Summer Nationals at it's new home in Milwaukee this weekend... but they drove an El Camino instead ( the brakes going out was "totally unplanned", nudge nudge, wink wink)- and a lot of their other projects are sitting at the car show waiting for them...

Has anyone considered that this stunt migh bring the Gas Monkey up to a higher standard of entertainment?
Rawlings does have some street cred in my mind. That cable TV might have made a drama queen out of his talents does not surprise me since that is the only thing that cable TV seems capable of anymore.
So, I for one am looking forward to seeing where this goes.
MCM? Start with "Kei to the City." Be sure to watch the making of as well. The end of it lets you see what mates those guys really are.
Ya I will admit MCM does not have anything compared to roadkill as far as technical know how but between the guys in roadkill they have so many years of experiences. Moog and Marty started out in a band not in the car world. They are learning how to work on/tune there cars just like me and you would by finding people that know more then us. They are just a bit earlier in the game compared to roadkill.
As for GMG they are a real shop and they worked on cars flipping them and restoring them way before the TV show. I know someone who bought a car from them a few years before the show. They have gotten soft but look at how fat Richard has pushed GMG! Like him or the show or not they have done it right! they took there little shop and turned it into a house hold name.
I know that it wasn't a jab a MCM, but I'll defend them by saying that its Roadkill and Gas Monkey's job to know cars. Marty and Moog straight up admit they don't always know what they are doing, and have a lot to learn. They do this as a side project for fun.
In reply to Appleseed:
This is probably why they have managed to become internationally famous from nothing. They are entertaining and do things the same way as the "regular joe" would do it. At this point, I think that their extended team is part of the show. Mech. Stig has been on the show since season one. Turbo Yota was on since season 3 or 4.
I agree. It definitely feels like, "Here's my mate. Remember him? Look what he can do. Cool?"
I would say this: if each of the teams had to edit their own segments, and include their own music, MCM would blow them out of the water.
No new news from the big road kill GMG show down?

Short version, gmg wins. Barely. Rawlings probably cheated and for sure had a lighter car.

FCA US LLC wins... they paid for the whole thing, and there is at least one thread about this on every automotive forum on teh internets right now...
Seriously, were has this show gone? Not on the YouTubes, and when I punch in Roadkill Live, it comes up with not RoadKill. What the hell am I doing wrong?
Roadkill is still there, but you have to pay ca$h money to see the new episodes as they come out, because that's the only logical way to do it when you get a major car manufacturer to sponsor you..
Oh...well...goodbye, Roadkill.
