I still say we should've sent Saddam Husseins head, gift wrapped in a hat box to Kim Jong... But the real problem is that China is behind him. China holds our mortgage and feeds us all those trinkets we love so much. Jong is taking full advantage, which is no surprise especially since were spread thin both economically and militarily.

OTOH, thats never stopped us before, and were not good at getting pushed around, were too used to being the big guns. this might get a bit ugly....

South Korea has a Puppet Force? I'd love to see some video of that

I don't think even Jong is that crazy. I do believe he and the Chinese can both count, and at last check we had way more nukes than they do. There are roughly 2500 operational US warheads, China is said to have ~400 and North Korea between 6 and 20. Assuming a 100% accuracy rate for their launches still leaves ~2000 US nukes that would decimate whatever military they had left. Sure it would leave the planet a radioactive billiard ball, but that shouldn't deter Jong from carrying out his threat if he really means it. (That was sarcasm.)

China has more at stake than most people realize. If the NoKo's provoke any kind of military response, many millions of refugees will swarm into China. That portion of China is rather poor and can ill-afford being forced to absorb a huge influx of hungry and destitute Koreans.

But, with nut-job Kim Jong Il having his finger on the button, who knows what might happen.

You insult the marionettes by calling them puppets.

Uh Oh, showing your ignorance there. I can read the papers and I KNOW without a doubt that Nukes are not a detergent. Nukes are just proof of how degenerate we are and why we are the great satan.

But they really clean a parking lot, and leave a streak-free shine!

(Because the parking lot is glass. A glass parking lot. THAT'S THE JOKE)

That is my Iran statement, less so in NoKo, less glass because of the trees.

I wish there was a good "Global Thermonuclear War" Simulator I could run on my WOPR so I could figure out what NoKo would do if I nuked Iran or vice versa.

If it comes to it, I'm betting the Chinese will let NK swing in the wind.

the chinese do not like rogue nations on their border. The minute the sabre rattling stops, they will step in and squash Kim Jong's head like the overripe melon it is.

I am actually surprised they have put up with him as long as they have
