Video: Homemade contraption for driving on frozen lakes
Ice racing on this thing's home turf is pretty scary. Thought you guys would like to check it out. Whatever he built that thing out of (bulldozer drive? Farm machinery?), it sure appears grassroots too.
In communist Russia, you no crush ice, ice crush you!

That thing would be a lot of fun in our swamps, too!

Did anyone else get CHILLS when it looks like its stuck in the frozen water?
That looks profoundly dangerous!!!
How do you say death trap in Russian?
I'm sure that if it had an operators manual consume vodka would be on page one
Looks like it floats. Otherwise it would sink when it goes through the ice. Right?
yes, it floats.. floats well by the looks of it.

It helps with the anxiety of falling through the ice!
We 'Muricans had that covered a long time ago.

That is neat. I was expecting a screw driven vehicle, like this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afJ18eJeNgU
Did that gauge they kept showing say sphinctermeter? It must measure the clenching level as you break through the ice! Those Russians think of everything.
Even stranger, sort of, it says "Sphygmomanometer" which is a blood pressure meter. I have no idea why that's there, but you're right, the Russians think of everything.
maybe he modified it to measure how much pressure the ice was putting up to the wheels?
