Today marks the first Jimmy Buffet Show in over 20 years that I will not be attending. A combination of factors have driven me to this dark place, but the inescapable truth is that I won't be there. Like him or hate him as a performer, you have to mourn the death of a streak.
The worst part is that I could easily be there, but I just don't want to go. My usual group has dispersed over the years, the RV was sold, drinking till 3am isn't as easy as it used to be, drunk 20 year olds irritate me, it's Thursday, I have a million other things to do, etc etc etc.
I am going home to hang out with this guy instead:
I am officially old. I can live with that.
Holy Crap! I thought you were going to post that he died! Don't do that!!!!!
I thought this was going to be a post that NYC banned all-you-can eat restaurants.

Going to a Buffett concert is definitely on my to-do list.
Oh my god! I was afraid that Warren had died.

Me too.
They won't ban all-you-can-eat. You can eat just as much. You'll just have to buy each portion separately so you're aware of how much you're eating.
I suspect that I can work through this particular crisis.
That's OK, I just went for you.
If you ever go you've got to get there 6-8 hours before the concert. The best show is in the parking lot.

I am in the same boat I don't care about going to concerts anymore, I would rather not deal with the hassel of all those people and the hangover.

Don't worry; you'll start doing this with more and more things that you used to enjoy. Eventually, you'll live the life of a hermit with your family.
You mean like in a given geographical area right.. not that you've been to EVERY Buffet concert that he has put on for the last 20 years right?
Couldn't find any good Buffett meme, but found plenty portraying Obama as the Antichrist.

I think it is cool that reasons (like your wonderful little guy) make some decisions pretty easy.
20-year-olds go to Jimmy Buffet shows?

I have news for you. The first time you decided to see Jimmy Buffet, you were officially old.
CUTE KID!!! Glad you finally came to your senses. Good news is, there's probably some dude with an ovation and a boombox at your local choke and puke doing covers that are just as bad as the originals RIGHT NOW!

Jimmy's old stuff is pretty damn good, IMHO, as well as some of his new stuff with Zac Brown Band. And he plays a Martin or Tele.
I grew up in Florida, where you either think Jimmy Buffet is the bee's knees or the spawn of berkeleying satan. I belong to the latter camp. That said, CUTE KID!!! I bought ours a "real remote" of her own for her birthday
