KeepVid.com offers the capability. Paste the YouTube url-address and click "downlaod"; the videos are saved in MP4 format.
Some videos may require more than one attempt for a download, but it works.
If you are on FF try the Downloadhelper add-on.
It also allows you to download HD youtube feeds and most other flash video on the web.
Open your browser cache in Explorer, sort by size, and copy the largest file to another location. Rename the extension to ".flv".
How do you save flash games?
YouTube has made it more difficult to download their videos. I've had better luck with dailymotion.com. I've been using Orbit for downloading videos and then convert them from FLV to WMV with AVS4YOU. I purchased AVS4YOU and use a free version of Orbit.
Here's my one lap at Roebling Road video captured at 55 mph. I was not concerned about track position as I was holding the camera with one hand while driving. It was a series of no passing laps for course workers. I drove full speed the following day. The slow lap on video gives you a good opportunity to study the track before driving it. There are plenty of text walk-thrus available online.
