Grey market Jap car?

More likely a rebodied 240 sx. Body kits and badges are common to make them look just like a Silvia. It's (IIRC) the same car underneath.

All they have to do on the coupe is swap the front sheet metal and rear bumper cover that is all it takes to make one look like a Silvia. They are the same chasis with different engines in the US market, and here we got them with the 180 front. Funny thing is everyone here wants the silvia front on their coupes and hatches. On a hatch its referred to as a Sil-80.
Very common to either just put on the factory sheet metal or get aftermarket kits and slap on. Yesterday I saw a S13 hatch with a S15 front end on it.
That is a '89 to '94 Nissan 240sx with a JDM (or aftermarket JDM) front clip. In the US the same car came with flip up headlights.
Ah yes, the Sil-80. Frequently with two girls in it, one driving in tennis shoes and one navigating with a 'tood.
I REALLY don't get the "It's JDM, Yo" stuff. It's what is under the metal that makes it fun, not crappy fiberglass. I've seen enough Silvias in the islands to be totally unimpressed. Meh, old fart rant off now.

ha ha I just saw that one. thank you pimpanime.com
Everyone here pretty much has it covered- it's a swap. I had a 240SX coupe as a first car, but I really wanted a hatch and to do a "SilEighty"/LS1 swap to it. The S13 Silvia front end swap isn't just for looks. It weighs about 25lb less than the pop-up light front end and supposedly gives you a little more engine bay room. You can also get a vented center grille piece instead of the solid "Silvia" piece and get more cooling air to the rad/FMIC. Of course, the downside is they are expensive to replace on this side of the pond if you bork up that mad tyte dorifto.
As for the "S13.5" (S15 front end on a S13) swap, the S13, S14, and S15 all have similar widths, so playing swapsies with the front clips is relatively easy.
These is a stock-looking black R32 GTS-T that shows up often at a New Hampshire PepBoyz. The R32 GTS-T is my absolute favorite Skyline: Big squared-off coupe+turbo I-6+RWD= Japanese musclecar. In person it's surprisingly low-key. I've yet to meet the owner, but I'd love to shoot the E36 M3 with him about it.
The Sil-80 is the only S1x I think looks any good at all.
Actually, Silvia style front lights on an FC would look kinda snazzy.

I saw a green (much better green than in that pic) living behind Ithaca High School ~2 years ago.
God damn it, you guys are gonna make me be a 240sx fanboy for a minute...
Its not a "sil-80", that is a silvia with a 180 front end, which is a coupe with a hatch from end... or pretty much a JDM car that looks the same as a stock US 240 coupe...
I REALLY don't get the whole JDM thing either. I recently got into a little bit of an e-argument over a guy mad that ricers were giving real JDM enthusiasts a bad name. I don't see how anyone who likes something just because its from japan could be actually be an enthusiast.
Not to mention the fact that the JDM silvia front end looks less sporty then the US front to me... It looks like a regular economy car front end.
