A cna I work with was in a nasty car accident two days ago. I just got word that they are taking her six month old son into surgery for a fractured vertebrae and brain swelling due to injury from the accident.
I have been there in a similar situation when my daughter was 5 months old. I know that prayer/positive thoughts/what have you works.
Not often I ask for something like this, but it's an infant and a single mom.

just received word that the munchkin came through. 2 shunts in the brain, fused vertebrate. no paralysis. her son flatlined for 46 seconds, and is currently on a ventilator, but according to what I was told that is normal for an infant to forget how to breathe.
the mother is a wreck at this point, and the father is nowhere to be found (still. he voluntarily gave uo his rights when he walked out on her when her son was 1 month old). her family all came in from all over the country to be with her, and we here at work are being as supportive as we can.
