Heard he was hurt but never figured as severe as a coma. 
Might be medically induced. If he had brain swelling, they would put him under until it was under control.
Hopefully he comes out of it.
I know our previous VP at work had a nasty reaction to something his neighbor was spraying, medically induced coma to help swelling.........never came back.
Very sad news.
The BBC was reporting that he was already comatose upon entry to the hospital.
Hope he comes out of this

It's 3:30 am in Grenoble. I doubt that there will be another update for at least five or six hours.
BBC or NBCSN were reporting earlier that the next update will come at 5:00 AM EST

CBS a little over an hr. ago says about the same as the last report.
Didn't something similar happen to Mark Donohue? Was perfectly fine post-accident, and passed a day or so later?

Dr. Hess called it: Medically induced coma to repair a hemorrhage.
Lets hope the damage can be repaired without issue and the recover is swift.
